A Review on Direct Laser Deposition of Inconel 625 and Inconel 625-Based Composites—Challenges and Prospects

The direct laser deposition (DLD) process has seen rigorous research in the past two decades due to its ability directly manufacture products followed by minimal machining. input variables play a vital role determining properties achieved manufactured DLD method. Inconel 625, nickel-based superalloy with exceptional mechanical performance and corrosion resistance, been used critical applications within aerospace, process, marine industry. However, poor machinability higher load requirements for plastic deformation have challenging manufacturers. Therefore, many studies explored additive manufacturing of 625 overcome these problems. This article focuses on composites, presenting state-of-the-art, drawing relation among processing parameters resulting material properties, microstructure phase evolution, high-temperature 625. paper highlights areas which further may focus.
